Our Commitment To a Safe and Supportive Greek Community

Hazing has no place in our UCF Greek Life community, and we take proactive steps to educate our members on what hazing is, how to prevent it and the serious consequences for those who engage in it.

How We Educate & Prevent Hazing

At UCF, we are passionate about creating a safe, inclusive environment for all students. Hazing is a serious issue that can have lasting consequences for individuals and organizations, which is why we take a comprehensive approach to education and prevention, which includes:

Clear Policies & Reporting
We ensure all students understand UCF’s strict anti-hazing policies and the serious academic, legal and organizational consequences of violating them. If hazing is suspected, multiple anonymous reporting options are available.

Leadership Development
Chapter officers receive specialized training on fostering a positive, non-hazing culture within their organizations, emphasizing team-building traditions that are safe and inclusive.

Campus-Wide Awareness
National Hazing Prevention Week and year-round campaigns help spread awareness through guest speakers, student-led initiatives, and peer education programs.

Support & Accountability
If hazing is reported, we take immediate action to investigate and support those affected. Organizations or individuals found responsible face disciplinary measures that can include suspension, expulsion, and legal consequences.

See Something? Say Something.

We encourage all students to stand up against hazing. Together, we are building a Greek community that values leadership, tradition, and above all—safety. If you witness or experience hazing, report it immediately to Fraternity and Sorority Life or the Office of Student Conduct.

Activities to Replace Hazing

Hazing doesn’t create real unity—it damages trust and weakens organizations. The best teams, clubs and Greek chapters thrive on respect, teamwork and shared purpose, not intimidation. There are many ways to welcome new members while building lasting connections, leadership skills and a strong sense of belonging. Here are some positive, rewarding alternatives to hazing that will strengthen your group and create a more meaningful experience for everyone.
